    Hello Everyone,

    It is human nature to resist change but like Yin and Yang it is also human nature to want to explore new ventures.
     
    Throughout history there have always been visionaries who encourage change and traditionalists who resist change. Not all changes have been good yet without changes there would not be improvements or inventions.  However, we need to be careful that the changes are balanced.
     
    Many traditional tai chi practitioners feel the only way of training is the traditional way. They believe years of training are necessary before you can teach and that you must teach exactly what you have been taught without deviation. My belief has always been so long as tai chi contains the essential principles it is tai chi. That was what prompted me to write the article “
    What is Real Tai Chi”. 
     
    I have had the privilege of working with many traditional teachers who were open minded and have participated in my workshops. They have found success incorporating Tai Chi for Health into their teaching to make tai chi more accessible, effective for health and user- friendly. Medical research has shown us how we can better learn and be motivated. Our Tai Chi for Health programs was composed with the deep understanding of tai chi and embracing innovative methods for today’s needs. In the past I have often used modified tai chi to describe our Tai Chi for Health programs. After discussing with my colleagues I realised that the way we describe Tai Chi for Health needs some adjustment. So how should we describe it? Read my article “

    In this newsletter also read Mike Soric’s article on “The Art of Building a Tai Chi for Health Business”. He recently discovered two very serious health challenges and is coping well with the assistance of his tai chi. This article demonstrates his positive approach in life challenges.
     
    There is a talk from our January Sydney workshop by Master Trainer Pat Webber on “How Tai Chi Impacts My Life”, another example of life coping skills with the help of tai chi.
